I SCOPE OF REPORT:
It is our understanding that the nature of this project is
I to consist of the renovation of existing portal facilities at the
site of the old Clark Mine workings at Somerset, Colorado.
including renovation of the existing access road in that area.
The project will also involve construction of a new intake portal
and/or fan portal at two possible locations. In addition to
portal area construction, the project will also involve
construction of a crusher, conveyor, stacking tube, and other
miscellaneous surface facilities located both on an existing
I bench below the main portal bench and on the river terrace
material at the base of the existing slope.
] Rocky Mountain Geotechnical has been retained to perform the
following functions:
1. Analysis of existing stability conditions in the portal
j areas and access road area where existing conditions imply the
J present bench portal and access road configuration on the
1 existing slope.
2. Analysis of the impact of the proposed construction and
slope treatment on existing stability conditions for the
operational case.
3. Analysis of the impact of proposed reclamation conditions
on existing stability conditions.
I 4. Formulation of appropriate recommendations pertaining to
a proposed renovation of portal areas and the access road area
I along with recommendations pertaining to proposed new
construction based upon available geotechnical data and results
of analyses.
3
