.M~nitorina program:
_ Due to marginal stability conditions present on this site
I and the potential for inte`"~nittent periods of instability, it
will be necessary to install~a monitoring system on a portion of
the site and implement a monitoring program during the
operational phase of mining and for some time after reclamation
as may be required by the Mined Land Reclamation Division.
J We would propose the establishment of three monitoring
I stations at locations as indicated on the Test Boring and
Monitoring Station Location Diagram in the Appendix of this
report. Each station should contain a device capable of
monitoring subsurface water levels (piezometer) and lateral
1 deflections in the soil profile (inclinometer or deflectometer).
The devices may be placed in separate installations or in a
common installation at each of the monitoring stations, depending
I upon the design of the devices ultimately selected.
Monitoring intervals during the operational phase should
I begin on a weekly basis with extension of the monitoring interval
J as may be appropriate after a sufficient baseline of data has
been collected. Monitoring intervals during the reclamation and
I post reclamation phases should be in accordance with
recommendations and requirements of the Mined Land Reclamation
l Division.
1 We hope this report has provided you with all of the
information you required and that it has been presented in an
understandable way. Should any of the points be unclear or
should you require additional information, please do not hesitate
1
16
