CO 81x34 <br />19701029-cols <br />Fac 197n)929-ii95 <br />Please find enclosed the 1999 Subsidence Survey for the West Elk Mine completed by Rich <br />Dunrud of Wright Water Engineers. Mr. Dunrud visited sites previously visited including Jumbo <br />1vlountain, the areas over the 10 and 1 1 Northeast Panels, and the areas over panels 12 and 13. <br />Mr. Dunrud also completed apre-subsidence survey over areas that MCC expects to mine in the <br />neaz future (panels 13A and 14). Apre-subsidence survey was also completed over the northern <br />most Box Canyon panels (panels 18-24), although they will not be mined for some time. <br />Longwall mining completed since the last survey includes the completion of panel 1 l and panel <br />l2. MCC is currently mining panel 13 with an expected completion of January 2000. The <br />longwall will then be moved to panel 13A and then to panel 14. <br />As no new cracks have been observed, and previously identified cracks are nearly healed; future <br />reports will not include observations in the Jumbo Mountain area. <br />Please call if you have any questions. <br /> <br />Christine E.
