Memorandum to Christine Johnston <br />1 October 7, 1999 <br />Page 10 <br />' September !7-Reexamination of Most CDMG Locations on Jumbo Mountain: <br />' Location CDMG-2. Located above the northwest corner of longwall Panel 8. <br />' • Traversed the lower Jumbo Mountain road for about 2 miles to point past Locations 2A <br />and 2B (September 98). No cracks were observed to location. Previous cracks aze <br />completely obliterated. <br />i Location CDMG-4A. Located 400 to 500 ft southward from CDMG-4 in landslide terrain. <br />' • This crack-which trends N-S, is about 50 ft long, and 2 to 5 ft wide and deep-has <br />sloughed, rounded off, and filled in. It looks much older than last September, when it was <br />very fresh. <br />' Location CDMG-4. Located in landslide terrain above the gate roads between longwall Panels 8 <br />and 9. <br />• Cracks are much more rounded, healed and vegetated compazed to last September's visit. <br />' • No new cracks were observed in this azea. <br />Location CDMG-5. Located in landslide terrain (bulges, depression, and leaning trees) above <br />' longwall Panel 9. <br />• The lazgest and most extensive cracks on north Jumbo Mountain occur at this location. <br />' • Cracks aze still pronounced, but are sloughed ir4 rounded, and more vegetated than last <br />September. No new cracks were observed. <br />Location CDMG-1. Located above the northern gate road entries of longwall Panel 8. <br />' • Cracks are more rounded, filled and vegetated than last September. <br />• These cracks and offset surface caused closure of the road to all forms of vehicles. Now <br />the road is accessible to ATVs (going downhill at least). <br />A site located 500 to 600 ft S40°E of CDMG-1 in landslide terrain. <br />' • Cracks are more rounded, filled in, and vegetated than last September when they were <br />very fresh. <br />' CDMG-8.
