SHELTON, Dlreetor
MEMORANDUM
Apr11 1987
T0: Sue Mowry ~~,~,~~
FROM: Jim Pendleton
RE: Blue Ribbon P sal to egrade Mine Portal Bench
I have reviewed t al bench regrading plan forwarded to you by Larry
Reschke, PE, engineer for Western Associates. The plan consists of excavating
the bench top drainage channel to remove the low points. In addition some
regrading of the bench top near the outer crest will be done to promote
drainage of the top surface. I believe the resulting gradients should promote
drainage of the portal bench top. The designed gradients are necessarily
low. In order to avoid another frustrating and expensive abortive effort, I
recommend that you require the operator to complete surveying of the regraded
bench prior to removal of the equipment. I also recommend that you coordinate
an inspection trip to allow on-site inspection towards the end of their
regrading effort.
cc: Bob Liddle
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Stre~t Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
