~}
4. The species of vegetation planted, the locations and approximate
dates of planting.
RESPONSE:
• Pounds/Acre
Wheat (for cover crap) 10
Big bluegrass (Poa ampla) 6
Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) 4
TOTAL 20 PLS pounds/acre
Exhibit 2.41 Annual Reclamtion Map shows the location of the
planting.
The area was planted in mid-October 1985.
5. The type and approximate quantity of fertilizers, organic material
or soil conditions used and location of use.
RESPONSE:
No fertilizers, organic material or soil conditioners were used
during the last year at Mesa Gravel Pit.
6. An appraisal of the success or reclamation efforts and in the event
of failure of any efforts, a short narrative on the suspected or
determined cause of such failure.
RESPONSE:
Reclamation seeding is entering its third full growing season on a
portion of the permit area. Observations made this past spring
indicate this area is providing a good stand of vegetative cover
and is also adequately controlling erosion. Remedial actions
will be taken this fall by spot seeding if necessary.
Tri State Generating Company constructed a road through an area
that was topsoiled and seeded last fall (1985). Tri State has
assured us that upon completion of the power line the road will be
reclaimed (see Exhibit 2.41).
7. Estimates of the location and number of acres to be affected in the
coming year.
RESPONSE:
Exhibit D-1, Mining Plan, shows the anticipated direction of
mining. At the present time, mining has not advanced as far as
proposed on Exhibit D-1. This is due to production as mentioned
earlier. Our proposed rate for the coming year should reach the
49,000 tons as permitted. The anticipated disturbance for
1985-1986 is:
