Impoundment 001, October 29, 1992
Other Yes Erosion curs into the upstream
slope of the dam (see Photo-
graph No. 1 and the discussion
of erosional features above).
Has not caused a crack, slump
or slide; and has not reduced the
width of the crest of the dam
Unabated advance of the feature
could eventually reduce the
effective widtfi of the nest of
the dam.
Appurtenant Structures
Detective Spillways No
Dewatering Device Clogged Yes A plastic sheet in the bottom of
the gate riser could block or
reduce flows in the principal
spillway. Vegetation overgrowth
partially blocks the outfall of the
principal spillway.
Faulty Gates, Baf[les, Pumps No
Other No

Additional Comments:
Some rills and gullies on pond basin slopes were noticed, most in the process of being stabilized by
vegetation. There was no significant erosion or sediment deposition in the pond from these features.
Maintenance Required:
Uncover burrows and re-compact in-situ backfill to dam construction specifications to maintain the
integrity of the dam.
Establish vegetation cover of native perennial grasses or provide alternative erosion protection on the
upstream slope of dam at the high-water wave action level and areaz of sparse cover to arrest erosion
and to inhibit rodent activity.
Clear principal spillway of plastic sheeting and the outfall of excessive vegetation growth to avoid
restrictions of flows.
r

T~ ~ ,/4 ~.
~/

-3-
