Soil growth medium application on the 9700 rock disposal area, select
portions of the 9360 rock disposal area, and the surface of the lower tailings pond tailings was
commenced in early October and is in progress as of this report. The portal entry to the 9360 adit was pneumatically backfilled from the concrete adit plug to
the portal entry. Final grading, shaping and revegetation of the portal entry area will be
completed during the soiling, grading and reseeding activities planned in October-November,
2002 along with activities described above for the 9360 waste rock disposal area.
The tracer-testing program for the adit plug was successfully completed in September 200];
periodic visual surveillance of the area surrounding the 9360 adit during 2002 indicates that the
remediation work related to elimination of adit seepage has been successful.
