Pueblo East Pit
2006-2007 Annual Report
Transit Mix of Pueblo
M-1986-015
Overview of Permit Year:
During the 2006-2007 year operation continued steadily after a full recovery from the flood in
2006. Mining progressed to the north and to the west, and is expected to continue in this pattern
until we reach the extent of our mining limit in Phase 1.
Annual Report Map:
The attached map shows the affected land and other important features within the permit area.
Affected Lands:
The amount of affected lands has not changed drastically from the previous year. A berm is
being constructed along the center of the mining area which will act as a route for the conveyors
to Phase 2. Sediment Basin 2 is now being used to settle water prior to discharge. Jetties put in
place at the location of the 2006 flood breach have been effective in stabilizing the bank.
Expected Activity:
Mining will continue to move north and west in Phase 1.
It is not yet determined when mining will commence in Phase 2. The slurry wall construction
may begin as early as spring 2008.
Bonding:
This operation is covered under aself-bonding arrangement.
