As you aze awaze we hired Martin A. Nelson, INC. who prepazed a closure plan
for the site in 1993. By Apri19, 1994 the landffi was closed in accordance to the closure plan.
Since the closure, we have been actively involved in the monitoring and reclamation phases of
the project.
GREYSTONE Consultants from Denver have been assisting us with'our groundwater
monitoring and sampling. For the past several years they have been submitting the resuhs of
the analysis and tests to your department. It appeazs that aIl of the data submitted is within the
allowable ranges and compliance of various standards.
The reclamation of the site is neazly complete. Soon there will be a planting of the suggested
seed mix as per the recommendations of the Natural Resource Conservation Office. Upon
completion of the plantings the site will be nearing the end stages of compliance with the
closure phm. Due to the financial burden of the monitoring costs and the information
indicating that the site is in compliance with the monitoring standazds we would like to request
that we cease the groundwater monitoring. The liSing of this financial obligation will allow the
County to divert the funds towards other aspects of the completion of the closure plan.
Please consider our request, and let us know as soon as possible so we can our budget
aceordmgly.
Sincere ,
~~~ ~~ ~
a9*+~ of the Board of County Commissioners
