RE: Seneca II-W, 2000 Annual Reclamation Report
Seneca Coal Company submitted the Annual Reclamation Report for the Seneca II-W
mine last April. I wanted to evaluate the extent backfilling and grading at the B pit and
the A pit during the permit renewal process. However, SCC did not and still has not
submitted the drawings showing the extent of backfilling and grading in 2000.
Additionally, the map showing topsoil removal, topsoil replaced, existing topography as
of 12/31/2000, the aerial photo of the mine site, and the planned revegetation for 2001
were not included. These maps are an integral part of the ARR since they show where
the various reclamation activities occurred during the previous year. I use them for
comparison with the permit to check compliance.
Please ask SCC to submit the exhibits on the CD-ROM that they committed to submit in
the spring of 2001. (See the * on the list of Exhibits, page ii.)
Also, you might double check to see if they have submitted an as-built for Haul Road 1
that was constructed during July 2000.
