Dept. of Natural Reso~irce~ <br />This is the second annual monitoring report for the East Rigden <br />Pit operated by Flatiron Materials company, P.O. Box 229, Boulder, <br />Colorado, 80306. It covers the period August 1, 1980 to August 1, 1961. <br />During the year approximately 9 acres of this pit were mined and <br />approximately 6 acres have been graded and are ready for seeding. <br />The following questions and answers are submitted to meet re- <br />quirements for annual reports to the MLRB. <br />1. What are the locations and numbers of acres affected during the <br />past year? <br />Approximately 9 acres in the northwest paz't of the permit area <br />were mined. <br />2. What are the locations and numbers of acres reclaimed this <br />year? <br />No area is completely reclaimed. <br />3. What are the locations and numbers of acres in various stages <br />of reclamation? <br />Approximately 6 acres in the northwest part of the permit <br />area have been backfilled and graded. <br />4. What species of Vegetation have been planted? SPhat are the <br />locations and approximate dates of planting? <br />None. <br />5. What are the types, quantities and locations of fertilizers <br />used? <br />None. <br />6. What is the company's appraisal of reclamation efforts? <br />Mining and reclamation are proceeding smoothly. Since the <br />initial mining has been done, reclamation can now proceed <br />on a recently mined area as mining continues to the southeast. <br />7. What are the locations and numbers of acres to be affected <br />during the next reporting year? <br />Mining will affect approximately 31 acres in the northwest <br />portion of the site, and some of these acres will be <br />backfilled and graded. (See map.) <br />
