' further effects of mining should be realized in the Pit #1 area. As a result, in October 1990 CMLRD
approved Technical Revision 04 to the permit which eliminated the requirement to monitor these wells.
Well 7, located in the reclaimed area, was dry from 1981 through 1984 samplings, however, has had water
since then. Water level in Well 7 may indicate the development of a spoils aquifer which may be due to the
general increase of pit water in the adjacent up dip Kerr Surface Mine which is currently being reclaimed.
' All monitoring data collected is exhibited on the attached Figure and Data Tables. TR-04 approved in
October 1990 eliminated the requirement to monitor water quality of this well. Water level data will continue
to be collected during an annual sampling in September.
NPDES SAMPLING
Surface water runoff from the disturbed areas of the mine was passed through one of the three
sedimentation ponds prior to discharge. NPDES reports were filed with both the Water Pollution Control
Division of the Colorado Department o[ Health and CMLRD. No discharges were made during the 1990
monitoring period.
1
,'
1
1
1
1
