LAKE COUNTY <br />Public Works <br />1200 Hazel Street <br />Leadville, CO 80461 <br />Phone: 71986-0259 <br />Fax: 719-486-8479 <br />June 29, 2006 <br />Annual Report <br />RECEIVED <br />Division of Minerals and Geology, <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Re: Permit No. M-197759 <br />Lake County Gravel Pit <br />Anniversary Date: July 8, 2006 <br />Gentlemen; <br />~UL ~ ~ 2~~ <br />Olylalun d Minnrnts and Geelo~y <br />Enclosed, please find the payment of $688.00 for the annual fee for the above referenced <br />permit. <br />The activity in the calendar year 2005 consisted of mining and crushing approximately 12,000 <br />tons of road base material during the time period January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2005. The <br />material mined consisted of taking down material on existing disturbed areas as shown on <br />enclosed map and cutting down the slope on the south east side of the piton undisturbed soil. <br />Approximately 150' x 40' of new area was disturbed. The new area had less than 2° of top soil <br />material, which was pushed bade south and east from disturbed pit area. <br />Reclamation for the year 2005 consisted of stockpiling existing top soil from the pit area to the <br />east side of the pit Also in 2005 we have started a program of stockpiling top soil from outside <br />sources, such as new road construction around town in antidpation of future reclamation work. <br />New disturbances for the year 2006 include stockpiling all salvageable top soil at the top east <br />side of the pit in order to maintain and take down the grade of the pit Also to continue to <br />accumulate top soil from outside sources. It is expected that any new disturbance will be <br />kxxted in the south east comer of the existing pit area.
