WI 61AI~S FOBR INININ6 ~I~P9N4
October 23, 2000
Mr. Gregg Squire
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Squire:
RECEIVED
OCT 2 5 2000
Division of Minerals and Geology
RE: Annual Sand and Gravel 112 Report for 1999-00, and Notice of Intent to Continue
Mining Operations (Permit No. M-84-168)
Enclosed please find the Williams Fork Mining Company 1999-00 Sand and Gravel Operations report
form, map, and annual fee payment ($668). We intend to continue mining operations into 2001. The
enclosed revised Appendix C map illustrates the surveyed acreage which has been reclaimed (27.66
acres, including 0.09 acres newly reclaimed in 2000) and the unreclaimed acreage which has been
mined (6.25 acres) or is simply associated disturbance (9.25 acres). New disturbance in 2000 (1.76
acres) involved topsoil stripping for pit advancement in Mining Areas 5 and 6.
Topsoil salvaged ahead of pit advancement was either placed directly onto the area prepared for
permanent reclamation at a depth of approximately 18 inches or placed into a temporary stockpile at the
east edge of topsoil strip advance. The topsoil in the temporary stockpile will be used for permanent
reclamation in 2001.
The projection for the 2000-01 report period (October 26, 2000 through October 25, 2001) is for
approximately 3.12 acres of new disturbance in Mine Areas 5 and 6. It is anticipated that
approximately 0.50 acres will be permanently reclaimed.
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this report.
Sincerely, /
.rr..,c
Forrest V.
