Lamm
Governor
MEMORANDUM
~ecember 1984
T0: Jim Herron
FROM: Jim Pendleton .~
RE: Powderhorn Coat omp ny's Subsidence Monitoring Report - September 1984
The above referenced report presents the subsidence monitoring survey data
from the subsidence monitoring network installed above the underground
workings of the Roadside Mine. The survey results submitted are acceptable.
The data accumulated to date demonstrates vertical subsidence maxima on the
order of 3.7 feet, which is in keeping with the projections included within
the approved Permit No. C-U41-81.
A number of subsidence monuments in the vicinity of Ute Water District
Facilities are indicated as having been destroyed during construction
activities. The operator must reinstall and recommence survey monitoring of
these monuments. I appreciate the difficulty entailed in maintaining
monument at ion in such areas. However, because of the nature of the public
water supply facilities involved, it is imperative that the operator continue
monitoring of subsidence within these areas, as required by their approved
permit.
cc: Brian Munson
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
