Rs you well know, this area was once owned by my family
ar~d many reservoirs were ire place before the land was rnir~ed. Ire
this area of Northwestern Colorado there is r~o such thino_ as too
much water. The rains are so sporadic that you need to store as
much water as possible in order to have adequate water through
the dry periods.
Ir. that area south of Craig there is comparatively
little live running water. Livestock as well as wildlife depend
upon water stored from runoff ire order to get adequate disoersior~
and uniform grazing. It does not matter how closely clustered
these reservoirs are because they will provide more area for
animals to water and increase probability that some will catch
water. These reservoirs also reduce the probability of head
cutting in drainages.
country.
As I told you, you can never have er~ouoh water ire this
ti
~-~
Poulos
pl
11~ ~~ i6 ;! i~, Y
