Long <br />Division Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology has completed review of the 2nd, 3rd and 4`" <br />quarter refuse pile inspection reports for the year 2000 for the Raton Creek mine, #C- <br />82-055. <br />The report demonstrates compliance with Rule 4.10.2(2) for coal mine waste banks. In <br />particular, the engineer is noting the presence or absence of seepage that could affect <br />the pile stability, in accordance with Rule 4.10.2(2). Erosion damage was noted in the <br />3`d quarter report and subsequent maintenance and repair was noted in the 41h quarter. <br />Photographs were included and complimented the text discussion well. Observations <br />are consistent with field observations noted during Division inspections periodically <br />throughout the year. <br />We have no further questions or comments at this time.
