MINREC, INC.
NORTH THOMPSON CREEK MINES
2.04.13 2003 Annual Reclamation Report
(a) Permittee:
Minrec, Inc.
2768 Compass Drive, Suite 101
Grand Junction, CO 81506
Permit No. C-81-025
(b) No land was disturbed during 2003.
(c) No land was backfilled during 2003.
(d) No land was topsoiled during 2003.
(e) The areas around the flume bases were re-seeded during April and May of 2003.
No weed control was performed during 2003.
(f) The disturbed areas associated with the North Thompson Creek Mines were
reclaimed during 1986 and 1987. In the fall of 1986 the refuse pile was seeded and
mulched. In the fall of 1987 the remainder of the mine site was seeded and
mulched and the unit train loadout was seeded. Following is a table which shows
the location, number of acres and date of planting for all previously revegetated
areas. All seeding was done in the fall of the year.
Location Acres Year Seeded
Refuse Pile & Flumes 8.0 1986
Flume Bases 0.2 2003
Mine Sites 31.2 1987
Reclaimed Ponds 2.3 1994
Loadout 1.8 1987
Total 43.5
The permanent water treatment facility which includes a portion of the No. 1 Mine
portal, the long pond, treatment ponds T-1 & T-2, and the light use road, pond
cleanings disposal area and pipeline corridors were re-disturbed and therefore are
no longer considered reclaimed (3.5 acres). The 1.3 acre refuse pile pond is
considered permanent. Thus the reclaimed area is reduced by 4.8 (3.5+1.3) acres.
Reclaimed area 43.5 - 4.8 = 38.7 Acres
-1-
