<br />1 c) The name of the explosive expert in the Subcontractor's employ or any <br />subpntractor proposed to supervise the blasting operation, the expert's <br />' experience along with evidence of any federal licenses and Colorado <br />Division of Mines permit for storage and use of explosives. <br />d) Compliance with any county regulations and notification to the respective <br />County Sheriff s office a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of blasting <br />operations. <br />' e) Identification of the specific area(s) where blasting will take place, drrection <br />of fall, maximum wind velocity permitted, date(s) and time period(s) when <br />' blasting will occur. <br />f) Provisions to be taken for employee and public safety. <br />' All materials and procedures shall comply with the following regulations: <br />' • Federal Regulations CFR Part 56, Explosives <br />• Federal Regulations CFR Parts 75 and 77, Subpart N, Explosives & Blasting <br />t • Federal Regulations CFR 30 Part 700 to End <br />• Bulletin 20, Colorado Mining Laws with Safety and Health Rules and <br />Regulations, and Revised Statutes regarding blasting. <br />' Concurrence by the RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE with the blasting plan <br />will not relieve the Subcontractor of any responsibility, including safety and completion <br />of the work as specified. <br />C. Execution <br />' 1. Existing entryways shall be collapsed by means of controlled blasting such that <br />entry is prevented for a minimum depth of 15 feet from the surface. If conditions <br />' permit, this will require blasting inside the entryway for this distance. The <br />construction of a permanent backstop to contain the blasted material may be <br />permitted at the 15-foot minimum distance, but must be approved by the <br />' RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE. The size of broken rock left after <br />blasting which creates the closure shall be such that it cannot be removed by <br />hand. No opening greater than 36 square inches shall remain unless one of the <br />two dimensions is 3 inches or less. <br />D. Marking <br />1 1. Anew 6-foot long, 3-inch diameter, galvanized steel pipe shall be installed in <br />front of each horizontal collapsed opening (alit) and in the center of each vertical <br />collapsed opening. The lower 2 feet of pipe shall be set in concrete a minimum <br />of 1 foot diameter and the upper 1 foot minimum, 2-foot maximum, shall extend <br />above grade. A brass cap shall be grouted into the pipe by the Subcontractor <br />' using anon-shrink grout such as Moly Parabond, Pour Rock, or Kwik Crete. <br />6-15 <br />
