Reference is made to MLRB Rules and Regulations, Section 2.40. 2.41 (le) Mining continued in Stage 1 with approximately 4.44 +/- acres mined in the 1982-1983 year on land previously disturbed. The estimate of how much land would be mined in 1982-1983 was greater than that actually mined. Mining in Stage C continues; however, we mined approximately 1.50 acres of the 3.00 acres estimated to be mined in 1982-1983. (lb) Approximately 1.91 +/- acres were stripped in the last year for a total of about 13.83 +/- stripped acres at this time. Last year's annual report estimated that the remaining 16.94 +/- acres in Stage 1 would be stripped this year. T;ecause of economic conditions, this operation has been delayed. (2) Baclcfilling continues is Stage Y. No other stages require reclamation at this time. (3) We continued to backfill the 15 acres in Stage Y. {4) No planting was scheduled for this year. (5) No fertilizing was called for this year. (6) Monitoring has continued in the areas where revegetation has been done in Stage X. It still appears that successful revegetation will not be possible until mining is complete in Stage I and the water level is allowed to return to normal.
