Brian Watterson Page 3 04/29/05 • Alluvial Water Monitorin One alluvial well, AVF-5, is monitored annually under the temporary cessation plan. This well is to be monitored concurrent with WF-1 and WF-2. It was visited and sampled on July 27, 2004, which meets the requirement to monitor between July 20 and August 30. The frequency of monitoring of this well appears in compliance with the plan, excluding the concurrent requirement with WF-1 and WF-2, which cannot be determined at this time. Groundwater/Mine Water Monitoring Two wells, 7 North Angle and TR-7A, are monitored under the temporary cessation plan. The 7 North Angle well is monitored for water level on a quarterly basis. The frequency was met for this well. TR-7A is a well completed down gradient of the workings in the Middle Sandstone. The requirement to measure water level and sample for field parameters annually was met for this well. Water Quality Sampling NDPES Outfalls . 9. There are significant deviations from data reported in the AHR and data as reported through self-monitoring to the CDPHE via Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR's). The following deviations were noted: No. 5 mine discharge 1g` Quarter -The DMR's report 7.91-8.08 as the minimum and maximum pH, yet the AHR indicates 7.28-8.22, respectively. 2"° Quarter -The DMR reports a minimum pH of 6.89 that occurred on 3/29/2004 in the 1S` quarter. The DMR also reports a maximum flow of 1.35 mgpd (2.08 cfs) yet the AHR reports 2.65 cfs occurred on 6/16/2004. 3`~ Quarter -The DMR report a maximum pH of 7.74 but the AHR reports 7.84 pH on 7/29/2004. 4`h Quarter -The DMR reports a minimum pH of 6.68 yet the AHR reports no pH below 7.58 for the quarter. No. 1 Strip Pit 1g` Quarter -The DMR reports 7.9 pH for a minimum yet 7.85 is reported on 2/13/2004. The maximum iron value is reported as .530 ug/I yet the AHR reports .570 ug/I. 2nd Quarter -The DMR reports .019 mgd(.029 cfs) yet the AHR reports no flow • over .0098 cfs.
