Ground Water Data -Ground water monitoring sites comprise one up dip and rivo
down dip shallow a]luvial wells and are briefly described below (See Iixhibit 2C for
location):
A-6 Well (A-6) -located south of the mine along Moffat County State Highway
13 and represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located
in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has occurred from 1984 to 2004.
North Good Springs Well (NGSW) -located along Moffat County State Highway
13 and represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map located
in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has occurred from 1989 to 2004.
Gossard Well -located within the rail loop facility. Access to this well is through
Colowyo and represented on the Surface & Ground Water Sampling Sites Map
located in Exhibit 2C. Monitoring has occurred from 1983 to 2004.
GENERAL TRENDS
Colowyo currently samples each surface water site for a variety of quality parameters. Of
all the pazameters that are analyzed For, several key indicator parameters are identified.
These are lab pH, lab conductivity, TDS, sulfate, calcium, iron, magnesiurn, sodium and
flow rate. Statistical analysis is completed and illustrates historical trends for each
parameter. See graphs for the trend lines in Exhibit 2A.
Surface Water Data -The Rz value for linear regression is'indicated below.
Site Id Lab
H Lab
Conductivi TDS Sulfate Calcium Iron Magnesium Sodium Flow rate
(cfs)
NUGSC 0.1102 0.0319 0.1044 0.1601 0.2513 0.00004 0.1933 0.0764 0.0694
LGSC 0.0047 0.1045 0.1855 0.0003 0.0117 0.0003 0.0235 0.1555 0.0355
LTC 0.0191 0.0972 0.0489 0.0006 0.0147 0.0001 0.0011 0.0436 0.0652
Summary of the indicator parameters for each surface water site is provided in the
following tables.
• NUGSC:
Parameter Mean dev Range Max.
