• <br />Robinson Brick Company is filing this Annual Report as part of the 112c Annual Fee and <br />Report Request requirements of the State of Colorado. <br />The Apache Mine is located in El Paso County, Colorado approximately 32 miles <br />northeast of Colorado Springs. <br />The mine is on active status with regazd to clay mining, hauling and stockpiling activities <br />at three sepazate azeas within the permit area, however, only two of these azeas aze active <br />with regazd to current and future mining. <br />No new mining campaigns were started and finished during this Annual Report period, <br />however, a mining campaign was initiated in July 1999 in the North most mine azea in <br />the vicinity of past A91 and A92 clay mining azeas. <br />The mine has a phased reclamation. <br />Operations (Current Year) <br />As previously mentioned, the only new mining operations to occur during the period did <br />not begin until mid- July 1999 and was not complete at the time this report was prepazed. <br />A copy of the two "Mine Production Plan Summazies" for the A91 and A92 clays to be <br />extracted is attached showing the extent and plans for this campaign. The campaign to <br />mine these clays and perform required stormwater control measures will be completed in <br />late August 1999. <br />Permitted acreage remains the same at 1364 acres. However, a Permit Amendment was <br />submitted on March 22, 1999 requesting an additional 327 acres to the West and this <br />permit had yet to be approved or disapproved by the Division at the end of the period. <br />Disturbance is currently 55.9 acres (32.7 acres major and 23.2 acres moderate/minor). A <br />letter was sent to the Division on June 25, 1999 explaining an unfavorable vaziance above <br />the permitted maximum allowable disturbance of 50 acres. On July 12, 1999, another <br />letter was sent to the Division on this subject and the Division granted a variance for the <br />55.9 acres. <br />Please see attached updated map. <br />No reclamation was done during this reporting period. <br />
