Orthophosphate/Nitrite <br />Historically, orthophosphate (Figure 33) and nitrite (Figure 34) values obtained over the period of record have been <br />low with most being below detection limits (Appendix B). However, elevated orthophosphate readings occurred in the <br />summers of 1998 through 2000, possibly due to nearby agricultural activity. In 2001, concentrations of orthophosphate <br />returned to historically low levels. Nitrite concentrations were again elevated a[ TR-l.5 and WR-1 in May 2001, but <br />decreased to historical levels as the year progressed. <br />Chloride/Potassium <br />Chloride and Potassium (Figure 35) were added to the parameters list in 1994. Levels of both have increased in TR- <br />4 over the course of 2003. Potassium concentrations at TR-4 have leveled during the 2004 sampling period. However, <br />chloride at TR-4 spiked in October 2004. <br />42 <br />
