Attnehed are the tneompiete letters for each pit.
Because in oath of the ill is the affected Land will eventually encompass ten (10) or
more acres, each appitcetion must be considered as a "Regular 0 eratlon" (Rule 1.1
(26), pg. 4, and Rule 2 pgs. 13-23 of the Rutes and Regulations and processed as
such.
Unfortunately, there must have been a misunderstanding between the staff sod your-
self when they visited you sometime back concerning the application procedures and
whet constitutes a minimum amount of Informstion needed Dy this Division. Me are
not looking for maJor envtronmental textbooks written on each pit, but we do have
to be able to assess envtronmental constderailons of the mining and reclamation plans.
Therefore, ns I discussed with Sandy on the phone, If we could arrange ~ meeting time
soon where I could bring along some reletlvely simple appiications that other counties
have done es examples to show regarding procedures and format, I think we can clear
this up and help bring Yume County 1n compliance with Caiorado law. It will also
help avoid any possible legal hassles. etc. sometime down the road.
If you have any questions concerning this, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Mike Stanton
Reciamatlon Specialist
Enclosures
MS/Jm
