any past disturbances impossible. The disturbances at this site were either not
properly located, or aze minor and indiscernible.
2. Signs. and Markers.
The mines throughout this area aze referred to under Permit M-1978-222 UG as
the "Monogram Mines:' The permittee identification sign was placed at the
bottom of a small hill on the Wilson claim (see map for location). The location is
cleazly visible from Road DD15, and this location is somewhat centrally located
for the large area which comprises the "Monogram Mines."
Photographs are attached (photos 21 and 22) of the new permittee identification
sign. The identification sign was placed on November 12-2001. `-- ~ -~
The entire azea of the Monogram Mesa contains dozens of old mine sites, dumps,
roads, and other disturbances. The specific sites identified on the Van Horn map
were visited and site conditions aze reported herein. Available records and
information aze not adequate to determine where the limits of the Disturbed Areas
lie and what adjoining areas are "pre-law" and are not subject to reclamation
under this Permit. NSA cannot identify precisely limits of the Disturbed Areas
and determine whether or not specific site conditions noted in the June 4, 2001
inspection actually fall on lands subject to Permit M-1978-222 UG. No Permit
boundary mazkers have been- installed for Permit M-1978-222 UG due to this
uncertainty. NSA will continue to try to locate information which will help
define the actual boundaries of the Disturbed Areas under Permit M-1978-222
UG.
4
