Please submit, within 30 days, minor revision applications to both the Munger and McClave permit
applications, addressing plans for control of noxious and invasive weedy species on disturbed surface areas
at the mines and the Loma Loadout. The plans should address control practices for the species mentioned.
Cheatgrass is not a listed noxious weed in the county, but due to its aggressive characteristics and seedbank
persistence, control of the species on soil stockpiles is warranted to prevent spread to reclaimed azeas when the
topsoil is redistributed. For current information on recommended control approaches for the species mentioned,
please contact Mesa County weed manager Jude Sirota (970-255-7120) and Ga~eld County weed manager Steve
Anthony (970-625-8601). Noxious weed lists, species information, and photographs aze provided on each
county s website; www.mesacounty.us/pest, and www. garfield-county. com (click on vegetation
management).
If you have any q stions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Daniel T.
