+ 1990 to 2200 umhos/cm in 1997. Future data should be reviewed to verify whether this
appazent trend continues. Downstream alluvial wells do not reflect significant increases
in EC levels.
Surface water sites indicate a normal seasonal vaziation with regard to flow. Most sites
indicate a flat trend with regard to TDS or F,C. However, site 1005 had 3 of 4 TDS
measurements return values equal to, or in excess of, 500 mg/l. Previously, all but one
historic measurement of TDS had been below 500 mgJl. Future monitoring should
determine whether this trend continues at this important site.
Pond and spoil spring monitoring continues and 1997 values show no indication of
degradation over previously reported values.
The mine inflow map, referred to in the text as Figure 118 was not labeled as such. Some
totalization of inflows should be done in future reports and compared to mine dischazge
or mine usage.
Overall, mining at the Foidel Creek mine has no impact beyond that predicted in the PHC
and has little effect of the surrounding hydrologic regime.
M:\coa IVcag\tcc97 ah r
