used to define the discontinuities and their orientations for use in this year's
analysis. These poles are summarized in Figure 8 and are presented in further
detail in Table 2 below.
Table 2: Representative Discontinuity Orientations

Concen- 1997
2002 &
2003
2003
2005
2006 Entire Dataset

tration
2004
Main Pit
Southern
Surface
Surface Including

Center
Surface
Borehole
Expansion
Mapping
Mapping 2007 Data
(2,978 Points
Mapping Data Data Data Data Total)
Data
F-1 (Fol) 176°/36° 168°/38° 177°/35° - 157°/39° 159°/35°
F-2 (Fol) - - 258°/17° (1) 209°/16° 198°/24° -
F-3 (Fol) - - - 336°l44° 294°/36° -
P-1 (Joint) 174°/81° 178°/74° 171°/75° 172°l76° 165°/72° 171°l76°
P-2 (Joint) 089°/72° 082°/63° 095°/55° 104°/61° 102°/47° 087°l53°
P-3 (Joint) 257°/73° 256°/66° 248°/53° 255°/61° 257°/79° 251°l68°
P-4 (Joint) 293°/72° 294°/70° 316°l41° 308°l76° - 287°I70°
P-5 (Joint) 334°/86° 349°/62° 343°/73° - 336°l76° 345°I62°
P-6 (Joint) 028°/68° 037°/57° 031°/55° 039°/58° 029°l49° 028°l53°
(1) Orientation of foliation found in the upper 300 feet of boring DH-03-03
Note the overall adjustments shown in Table 2 that have been made to the
general orientations for each of the discontinuity (foliation and joint) sets based
' on the combined discontinuity data obtained over multiple years' analyses. The
results for the 2007 analysis did not change the pole or the resultant
concentration center for any of the delineated joint sets from the 2006 analysis
results. The collected data for this evaluation was sparse enough that the
' discontinuity orientations are not broken out in Table 2, but are included in the
overall dataset calculation and shown on Figures 7 and 9.
' Overall, the discontinuity sets obtained by analysis of the entire dataset (i.e.,
2,978 points) are consistent with the cluster analysis from previous years'
' individual analyses, with the exception of foliation orientations, F-2 and F-3
(Figure 9). Both of these two discontinuity orientations are identifiable within the
' quarry, but have not been recorded in large enough quantities to create a strong
' -16-
