According to Divison records, the permit is
valid and the status of the pit is Active.
If the company intends to add new acreage to the approved permit
area for the Rich Pit, they will probably have to submit an
amendment application to the Division of Minerals and Geology for
approval.
The amendment process for a 112 permit, such as that issued for the
Rich Pit, resembles the permitting process for a new application.
This process includes the publication of 4 advertisements of the
application in successive weeks in a local newspaper, the sending
of notices of the application to adjacent landowners, the filing a
copy of the amended application with the County Clerk or Recorder
for public review and provision for a public comment period. In the
event of an objection to the amendment application, the Mined Land
Reclamation Board itself, not the Division, must make the decision
on the application.
If you have any further questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
1 ~ G S~ti~~~
~n ~~~-
James C.
