June 3, 2005
Seed mix used to seed the 2003 reclamation azeas, EP039, EP040, EP041, and EP040, used seed from Granite
Seed, Table 7 drill and table 7 broadcast mixes. Many of the approved Tab1e2.05-7 species were unavailable in
2002 when the seed order was filled. Species that required substitutions included; Mountain fescue, Pacific
aster, Louisiana sage, Saskatoon serviceberry, and Mountain snowbeny. Appropriate substitutions were made
from approved Table 2.05-7 or Table 2.05-8. The seed mix planted vazies slightly from the approved lbs.
PLS/acre rate (when calculated for both 2002 and 2003 reclamation areas). This vaziance is small and is likely
due to the species substitutions. This variance is acceptable.
Due to environmental and market conditions in 2002, not all the preferred seed species were available to
compose Colowyo's Table 2.05-7 seed mix. Colowyo is approved to use substitutes from Table 2.05-8 for such
situations. Colowyo did this in 2002, used the 2002 seed for 2003 seeding efforts and chose from approved
species on the list.
Colowyo's 2003 Annual Reclamation Report fulfilled the requirements of Rule 2.04.13. Rule 2.04.13(2)
includes provision for addition monitoring information as required by the approved permit. Additional
information requested by the Division for future Annual Reclamation Report submissions include:
In order for the Division to confirm seed mix and seeding rates, along with the seed tags, Colowyo needs
to provide information regarding the amount of seed applied during the years seeding efforts.
2. Colowyo needs to include a sketch or description of where weed managements efforts have been
conducted. (Rule 2.04.13(1)(e))
