Dept. of Natural Resources
The 1985 monitoring results of the Bear No. 3 portal and access road
have been received and reviewed.
• There was a slight deviation in both the horizontal and vertical
directions from the 1984 survey. Deviation in the horizontal
direction ranged from 0.2 feet to 0.4 feet and deviation in the
vertical direction ranged from 0.1 feet to 0.3 feet.
UTE Engineering, who conducts the annual survey, explained in their
1985 Report that the slight deviations were due to a more experienced
survey crew and utilization of more sophisticated and accurate
equipment. It is reasonable to expect a slight difference in
readings, since more accurate equipment was used.
Since this is only the second year of monitoring, it is not believed
that this year's movement represents any significant trend. Because
this year's survey was conducted with more accurate survey equipment,
next year's survey results will be a better judge of any apparent
movement.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
ACZ INC.
• DJK/wv
Dan ~ ~'~~.,.
Dan J.
