Eastside Coal Company, Inc.
Subsidence Report
February 1991
Extraction Limits
No mining has occurred at the Eastside Mine during the last six months.
The Mine Map dated October 5, 1990 shows the current extent of mining.
A conservative angle of draw of 25° includes Subsidence Point 2 in the
area of possible influence from subsidence.
Observed Subsidence
Points 1 and 2 were surveyed on February 28, 1991.
The results from Monument 1 indicate the point did not subside during
the last six months. Since the point was originally set, the total"'
vertical movement of Monument 1 was 0.260 feet.
The results from Monument 2 indicate the point is higher during the
winter months and lower in the summer months. This could be caused
by frost heave during the winter months. The changes noted for
Monument 2 are now related to seasonal changes and survey errors.
No structures or renewable resources have been affected by subsidence
of the Eastside Mine.
