FISHING, HIKING
CABINS, LAKES Arvo RIVERS
SOWARD RANCH
ESTABLISHED 1886
Q A RESORT CATTLE RANCH ~
June 24, 2002 sox 130
CREEDE, COLORADO 87130
Division Of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
To Whom It May Concern:
THE LAMB FAMILY
OWNERS
RE~EI1pE®
JUN 2 7 2002
Division of Minerals and Geology
Enclosed please find our a Annual Report Form and check in the amount of
$281.00 in payment of our Annual Fee. As last year, there has been very little
significant activity at the Soward Ranch Pit. For this reason, I am hoping once
again to rely upon the aerial photo map we submitted with the 2000 Annual Report.
On 10/19/01 Mr. Bob Oswald of your office conducted an inspection of
Soward Ranch Pit which resulted in the increase of our reclamation bond from
$5,760.00 to $8,335.00. On page 2 of his Inspection Report Mr. Oswald
commented: "The site has changed little since the photo submitted with the 2000
annual report was taken:' As in the past few years, the basis of operations at the
Soward Ran h P!t }vill remain the sellin and remgval of the furrent materi 1
stockpiles. l~o mmmg, processing, or reclamation is planned m the foreseeable
future.
Once the current material stockpiles are depleted we may amend our permit
to increase its acreage, reclaim parts of the current permitted area and reconfigure
the site boundaries to facilitate future operations. Until then, as our reclamation
bond is now consistent with the state of the pit, little will change from the status
quo. Please let me know if you require any further information from us.
Truly Yours,
of amb-Managing Partner
Soward Ranch Partnership
(719) 658-2295
