As a member of the attorney general's personal staff, <br />I am responsible for coordinating, supervising, and in some cases <br />personally handling the office's civil appeals. I am also responsi- <br />ble for reviewing all attorney general's opinions before they are <br />signed. Additionally, I am frequently assigned to special projects. <br />For example, I recently helped the Governor s office negotiate an <br />interstate compact on the disposal of low-level radioactive waste. <br />From 1975 through 1978, I was a lawyer in the appellate section <br />handling both civil and criminal appeals. In 1974, I was transferred <br />to a trial litigation position and tfien promoted to chief of appeals. <br />In this position, I supervised a staff of thirteen lawyers, monitored <br />approximately 400 appeals a year, and coordinated positions within <br />the office of the attorney general on legal issues which affected se- <br />veral parts of the office. I was also responsible for monitoring at- <br />torney general's opinions for legal accuracy. In 1980, I resigned my <br />administrative position as chief of appeals and assumed a unique posi- <br />tion within the office in which I was assigned to special projects <br />in both trial and appellate courts. <br />Since 1975, I have handled over 100 cases in the Colorado appel- <br />late courts and the United States Court of Appeals in fields ranging <br />fram securities fraud to natural zesources. Additionally, I have ar- <br />gued one case in the United States Supreme Court. <br />August 1973 - October 1975 <br />Self-employed <br />Deaver, Colorado <br />Durin¢ this period of time I was in general practice.
