M-77-208 <br />1997-1998 <br />The purpose of this report is to comply with the Mined Land Reclamation Act of 1976, Statute <br />34-32-112 of House Bill No. 1065. This report follows the requirements covering annual <br />reports in the Rules and Regulations of Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, Section 2.4. <br />The permit for the Lyons Quarry was issued on June 4, 1978. <br />This report shows the locations of continuing operations and areas in the process of being <br />reclaimed. The map legend indicates the activity, the areas affected, and the total acreage for <br />each type of operation. <br />There are 23.8 acres of major disturbance: <br />^ Mining, Stripping, and Waste Storage (Section C2) ..................... 23.8 Acres <br />• There are 18.7 acres of moderate disturbance: <br />^ Stockpile/Equipment Storage Area (Section AS) ........................ 14.4 Acres <br />^ Designated Explosive Storage Area (Section A6) ........................ 4.3 Acres <br />There are 166 acres in various stages of reclamation: <br />^ Grading and Contouring (Sections A3, B 1) ............................... 28.4 Acres <br />Backfilling and Grading (Sections A4, B2, D1) .......................... 51.9 Acres <br />^ Grading Complete (Sections Al, A2, A7, A8, Cl, C3-6} ............... 85.7 Acres <br />There are 105.4 acres that have been reclaimed: <br />^ 2000 Acre-Foot Water Storage Reservoir .................................. 50.6 Acres <br />^ E-Pit Seeded ................................................................... 54.8 Acres <br />Plans for the reporting period from September 1998 to September 1999 include: continuation <br />of mining in portions of the C-Pit (Section CZ) and to continue reclamation activities. <br />Southdown, Inc. anticipates that all of the Lyons Quarry will be reclaimed with the exception <br />of Sections C2 and A6 by the next annual report. <br />• <br />
