1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION ' 1.1 Scope of Work ' The scope of work for these Specifications shall include construction of the tailirgs embankment raise and associated access roads for the San Luis Project, as shown on the Drawings. Specific ' features of the work include, but are not limited to the following: • Mobilization of all construction equipment and material required for the work; ' • Construction of temporary and permanent access roads; • Selective borrowing from approved bon•ow sources; • Fill placement and grading; • Furnishing and installing all material and constructing all items appurtenant and incidental to the above; and ' Demobilization of all construction equipment, removal of temporary structures, and grading final surfaces. ' The Contractor shall familiazize himself with relevant regional and site specific conditions which may have an impact upon the work. Data relevant to the overall project are conaained in reports ' in the possession of the Owner, which are available for Contractor review. The site description and conditions are presented in the document "112 Permit Application Amendment, San Luis Project" by Steffen Robertson and Kirsten (U.S.), Inc. (SRK), August 1989. ' , Drawings to be read in conjunction with these Technical Specifications are tutled "San Luis ' Project Tailings Disposal Area," and are numbered 14729-101 and 14729-102.. At any point during the course of the project, it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to ' receive written confirmation from the Engineer on work items in question. Should any contradiction either implied or real exist between the Technical Specifications and the Drawings, the Specifications shall take precedence. In all events, the decision of the Engineer is fmal. The Owner reserves the right to furnish and install all portions of the work degcribed with his ' own forces if he so desires. Work not covered by these Specifications includes permanent millsite access roads, piping systems for tailings delivery and water return, and electrical utility lines and poles to the disposal area facilities.
