Our comments are provided below. Please respond to
this letter at your earliest convenience.
Monitoring Frequency
• Bedrock Wells -
1 . / The second sample for the bedrock wells 008-79-6 and 008-77-58 was
taken October 4 , 1989. Please be sure that all future sampling is
conducted no later than September of any given year.
2. Well 008-79-6 was pumped on October 2, 1989, and apparently
revisited for a sample on October 4 , 1989. Please provide the
water level value for October 4 , 1989, or explain the omission.
3. It appears that the lead value for well 008-77-58 (May 18, 1989) is
a data entry error. Please correct as needed.
Alluvial Wells -
All requirements were met.
Spoil Wells -
1 Why were the various metals analyzed by the total recoverable
method rather than the dissolved method, for well 008-SP-5A (May,
1989)?
Surface Water -
• 1 . The following parameters were not analyzed for the September 1989
samples at stations 29 and 900: total suspended solids, SAR,
cadmium, mercury, selenium, silver, iron, manganese, molybdenum,
and zinc. Please explain the omissions.
