In 1~ years of experience in the fields of metallurgical and hydrometallurgical
research and development, Dr. Hyatt has been responsible for the supervision and conduct
of testwork on high pressure systems for metal sulfides precipitation, for the high pressure
(3000 psig) synthesis of organometallic compounds, for the production of iron carbonyl at
elevated pressure and temperature at pilot scale, and for electrorecovery and
electrorefining processes for copper, tin, antimony, arsenic, and other metals. He has
developed and participated in the pilot scale and commercial scale deployment of
processes for the chlorination of molten tin, for the electrogeneration of
chlorine/ozone/hypochlorite in water treatment systems, and for the treatment of fine coal
prior to sep~iration of pyritic sulfur by magnetic separation.
Dr. Hyatt is a member of the American Chemical Society, the Institute of Mining
and Metallurgical Engineers, the Metallurgical Society, and Phi Beta Kappa. He has
authored and co-authored over 10 technical papers and has presented lectures and short
courses at national meetings on secondary resource recovery and water treatment
chemistry. He is the inventor or co-inventor on 5 United States Patents and on several
patents pending in Europe and Japan. He holds a SECRET security clearance.
