Dept of Matural Resources
RE: ANNUAL REPORT & FEE P]~IIT X 77-572 (OALCO, INC. Lamar East J'it)
Here is our Annual Report„ and Fee for the., above designated sand anct gravel
mining operation in Provers, County for 1983-84.
Mining and reclamation at this site £or 19R3-84 ie as follows:
1. There were approximately 1 acre mined. (See map rr^d~outlired area.)
2. No acres were reclaimed for this period.
3. Preliminary sloping and grading was performed on approximately
one-half acre in stage TR-2. (See map ra n outline area.)
Top soil was removed and laid in a berm afng the west and north
aides of the area. Overburden was placed on top of this in the same
31~ ~~~y area. Overburden is still being placed and sloped at this time as
/~,,,~ ,~j (~"~ the mining progresses.
"I~x~"~ ~ V 4, No vegetation plan~~ng occured during the mining year.
l' ~'~ 5. No fertilizers, orgsnic material or soil conditioners were used.
6. Reclamation has proceeded slower than anticipated because of events
reported in previous reports. A study of our gravel pit it: early 1983
disclosed there are more sand and gravel reserves remaininE; in the pit
than xe realized. By using a different method of excavatiox: we will be
able to recover this material. We are seeking to obtain different
excatation equipment at this time. Therefore, to perform i'inal
reclamation of these areas at this time would only mean we would have
to remove them and then replace them again at a later date.
7, lie estimate approximately acres will be affected by mining in 1984-85.
8. The effective date of this information is March 17, 1984. The Annual
Report date is March 22, 1984.
Please find a check enclosed for the amount of $350.00'for the Annual Fee.
~~- ~'~~~
George R.
