Battle Mountain Resources Inc.
Tank Farm Reclamation
10/05/02
Page 2
As we discussed, BMR will excavate these soils and transport these previously contained
bedding soils to an area on the lined tailing facility were the material can be actively
managed and remediated. These soils will be representatively sampled and analyzed
annually during each fall (i.e., October) for tph concentrations and once this
representative sampling and analysis determines the soils are uniformly below a tph
concentration of 100 ppm, the soils will be utilized as topsoil material.
Following excavation of the tank farm soils and removal of the geomembrane liner
surface, BMR will fill the excavated opening with local borrow materials to an elevation
allowing free surface water drainage. Upon completion of the excavation fill work, the
area will be topsoiled and revegetated with grass and forbe species designated in BMR's
CMLRB reclamation plan.
The sampling protocol and analytical results of Terracon Inc.'s soil work shall be
submitted to the Division under separate cover, as will the annual analytical results
completed with soils remediation.
Should you have any further questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact
either Mr. Julio Madrid (719) 379-0799 or myself (303) 324-2630 or (970) 325-4482.
~~lY,
Bill Lyle
Director of Env.
