EASTSIDE MINE Summary of 1993 Water Monitoring Extent of Mining Limited mining was accomplished in 1993. The entries of the Eastside Mine are advanced to a total of 1200 feet. Three entries are being driven on the strike. Flow and Field Parameters The flow and field parameters of the Harvey Gap Outlet above and below the mine continue to demonstrate the seasonal discharges from the Harvey Gap Reservoir. No significant deviations from the 1925- 1992 data are noted. At the concrete structure, the sampling point for field and chemical parameters in the Harvey Gap Outlet-Below Mine, there were no flows during January and December. The ice was so thick t},at no sample was taken. At Cite flow sampling points on the East and West Laterals cf the Harvey Gap viitlet-Below [dine, there was no flow in January and December. Chemical Parameters The chemical parameter results of the Harvey Gap Outlet above the mine and below the mine generally fall within the ranges established 1955-1991. The conductivity, pH, alkalinity, dissolved solids, SAn, cations, magnesium, sodium, bicarbonate, and sulfate compare favorably with the established ranges for the nine y:ar~ of sampling. The values L-elow the mine for 1993 are well witl~,in the established levels for nH, conductivity, sodium and sulfate. There appears to be seasonal variations; lower values during tl~e warm months and Higher values during the cold months. The fluctuations could be due to the ruing water level of the reservoir after t11e water level was drained to base level during the irrigation seasons.
