Ground Water Level Summary. Nost aquifers at Seneca II-W exhibit a typical senaomal
fluctuation. Water Levels era highest (ehalloree t) after the spring eaowpack runoff which
recharges the aquifer. Of tan, bedrock li.e., eon-alluvial) aquifers exhibit a lag time
betreea spring runoff and highest water levels. Water levels then decrease (deepen)
e^ late summer or fall approaches. Moat wells exhibited water levels this year that fell
within chair historic ranges.
Water Quality. Table 3 IAppendix A1, Summary of Ground water Nonitorlaq wells, deecribea
Ue relic that were sampled, the sample frequency during this year, and alto
cDaractaristlce. Table 6 (ApDeadix AI ahors the ground water parameter list vend for all
calla. Analyses Dave Deer performed Dy ACZ Laboratory in Steamboat SDringe, Colorado
since Nay 31, 1983. ACZ Laboratory performs all analyses by EPA or equivalent methods.
Samples are delivered the day of collection to the lab .a an iced cooler.
The folloriaq discussion of the abalytical data collected during the reporting period ie
arranged by strata being monitored and coincides with the format (by aquifer type) is
rhich the analytical data are presented is Appendix D. TDe following discussion of water
quality rill limit itself to a description of total dissolved solids (TDS). A separate
section, Comparison of Ground Water Quality to Water Use Standards, will list those
samples that exceed water use standards.
Data for each well in this appendix begins with a listing of the water quality data
collected during this year, followed by remarks explaining the sampling procedure. TDis
ie followed by a plot of TDS versus time for the entire period of record. The regression
line on this plot is generated by a method known ae LOWESS (Locally Weighted Scatter Dlot
Smoothing). A smoothness factor of 1 (on a scale of 0 to 1) was used, which glues maximum
smooching. Finally, this plot is followed by a table listing historic TDS values and
percent milliequivaleats for major ions.
After a review of the Seneca II-N 1995 ABR, the CDMG requested (in a November 12, 1996
letter) historic values for TDS and sulfates at uygradient sad downgradi ant alluvial walls
oa Hubbersoa Gulch and Sage Creek. Those data have been provided is Appendix DI is the
form of
d time versus concentration
ti
h
l
iff plots. By overlaying these plots
i
b
d on a light table or
d
k
rin
or, a
ve d
t
e re
erence is concentrat
ons may
e observe
.
