4.2.4 Cvncun/ion Pronp

'Che knock-out tank shall Uc fitted With an evacuation pump to remove recovered fluids
from the knock-out tank, and discharge into the oilhvater separator described in Section
4.2.5. The evacuation pump will be an external pump fitted to draw from the bottom of
the knock-out tank. The pump will have a minimum flowrate of approximately 24 GPM
to provide sufficient capacity to evacuate within a five minute pumping period the 120-
gallons of total fluids which arc accumulated hourly in the knock-out tank. The pump
shall cycle approximately once per hour at the designed recovery rates.
4.2.5 Oil/fi'nler Sepnrrrlr~r
The system shall be fiucd with a vertical tube coalescing oil/water separator,
m:utufacturcd by r\I'L IndusUics, Inc. (Model V'I'C 50) capable of handling a flow of up
to 50 GPM. "1'hc scparalor Itas 6ccn sizal to remove oil globules down to 20anicrons,
and reducing oil content to approxinuttcly 10 mg/L.
4.2.( Di.sclrrrrge Prrrrr/r
l~he oil/water separator shall be fiucct with a discharge pump to pump Ucated ground
water from the scparalor to the 20,000-gallon water holding tank (furnished by SWPC).
'fhc pump will be tilted to the discharge of the scparalor, with suflicicnl flow capacity to
meet or exceed that oC the flow into the separator. The pump will have a minimum
flowrate oC appro~imatcly 24 GPM, to match [hat of the inflow to the scparalor. The
pump shall cycle approximately once per trout at the designed recovery rates.
4.2.7 Love! Stvirclres, Alnrurs, and ~Issocinled Controls
G[~4 shaft furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to install all
controls, Icvcl and switches as described in this design, unless otherwise noted.
ERM-Rocky Mountain, Inc. 9 Printed on Recycled Paper
P:\ 1000\S W PC\961019.
