CYPRUS EMPIRE CORPORATION, EAGLE MINE NO. 5
JULY-DECEMBER 1995
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report summarizes the survey results of subsidence monitoring over E-seam longwall
mining panels at Cyprus Empire Corporation's (CEC) Eagle Mine No. 5. This report
covers the period of July through December 1995.
Monitoring point locations, surface features, overburden thickness contours, and the
monthly mining advance are illustrated on the attached map entitled, "E-seam Longwall
Subsidence Monitors."
2.0 MONITORING SCHEDULE
As per the approved monitoring schedule, subsidence surveys were conducted in
September and November 1995. The surveys included all monitors on lines A, B, C, D,
and J and the three highway stations.
3.0 MINING ADVANCE
Mining of the 3 East longwall panel advanced approximately 125 feet during the months
of July and August, completing extraction from this panel. Monthly advance is illustrated
on the attached map.
4.0 SUBSIDENCE RESULTS
The results of the monitoring surveys are presented in the attached tables. The accuracy
specification on the monitoring survey is 0.1 ft. Listed below are the highlights.for each
line.

The highway monitoring stations have not changed in elevation within the accuracy
specifications.
No substantial cracks have appeared. Small cracks ranging in horizontal spread from less
than an inch up to three inches, have been located and will continue to be visually
monitored.
