request for timothy in the yard area mix was flawed since the timothy cannot survive
the hot dry summers with only 6" of imported topsoil. This interseeding was discussed
with Dan Mathews and was found to be not significant enough to trigger a setback of
the 10 year bonding timeframe for dryland pasture reclamation. No management of any
kind on the reclaimed land was done in 2000 except for the fact that cattle got in
through the broken fence by accident and heavily grazed the site. The fence has since
been fixed.
Activities for the Year and Comments:
The lining for the restored channel in the original office area, which was installed in
1998, was found to be functioning properly. The ditches and culverts were cleaned. All
ditches, culverts, fences and the sediment pond are functioning well. The alluvial wells
are also functioning properly. No weed spraying was conducted in the year 2000. No
irrigation, no fertilization or any other practice was used during the year. Minor
maintenance was performed in cleaning culverts and ditches.
Acreage Breakdown of Disturbed Area
Description Acreage Comments
Reclaimed Bench and Office Area 1.25 Seeded.
