currently a part of the required monitoring program. Only flow and field parameters are •
currently being monitored hare.
NPDE510. This sediment pond was completed in Auquat 1996. Flow was observed at this site
for the first time ever on February 24, 1997. Flows hays bean perennial Por this year.
Site YSGFS. This site exists on Cressy Creek below the proposed NPDESII pond. This pond
was completed in October 1997.
Sites YSGS. This site exists on Cressy Creek below all discharges from both the Yoaet and
Seneca II Hines. it became part of the required monitoring program in October 1995. TDS
values here are affected more by the Seneca II Hine than the Yoaet Mine.
Spring YSPG6. This spring (also knorn as Armand Spring N1) supplies water to the old
Armand homsa toad.
Spring YSPG10 . This spring is actually an artesian well (also known as Armand Artesian
Well). It is sampled only when Flowing.
Comparison of Surface Water Quality to Water Use Standards. Irrigation and livestock
standards (Tables 5 and 6) were described in the preceding ground water saetien. These
standards were compared with all stream and spring data collected during this reporting
period.
Table 11 provides a comparison of surface rater quality to irrigation atandarda.
Standards exceeded were pS (5 sites) and sulfates (3 sites).
Table 12 provides a comparison of surface water quality to livsstock standards. The only
standard exceeded was pN (5 sites).
The Yoaat Mine PeC (PAP Tab 17) predicts TDS inereaaee to be observed at various stream
sites during the irrigation season (May-September). The following table outlines those
predictions along with this years oDServad averages.
•
6
