~ _ ~-
(2) The additional monitoring portion of this report consists of
three separate sections; a discussion of the results of an
annual rill and gully inspection, an evaluation of
revegetation success, and a report on the hydrologic status of
the Bourg Mine which underwent final reclamation during the
Fall of 1988.
Rill and Gully Inspection
A rill and gully inspection was conducted at the Bourg
property on October 4, 1995. At that time it was noted
that the sediment control system has worked as designed.
All terraces were found to be in good condition. No new
reportable rills or gullies were located. Flatiron
Companies continues to monitor two previously reported
rills, 1990, both of which have been stablized and is
monitoring the north portion of the perimeter road for
potential rill development.
The settlement crack located at the bottom of the slope
at the north end of the property has been filled with
topsoil. Flatiron Companies will continue to monitor the
crack for further settlement.
Vegetation Survey
The vegetation survey was conducted by Warren Keammerer,
Ph.d. on August 3, 1995. The results of that survey are
attached as Appendix A. It is Flatiron Companies' and
its consultant's assessment that the revegetation effort
is progressing well.
Hydrologic Survey
Well depths were measured and water samples were
collected on May 28, 1995 and September 20, 1995. The
results of those samples are attached (Appendix B).
There is no indication that the mining and reclamation
activities at the Bourg Mine have had any adverse impact
on the hydrology of the area.
2
