<br />December 13, 1999 <br />Distilled 1Vnter blanks <br />rage c-x <br />These field blanks are samples of de-ionized or distilled water which are submitted to the <br />laboratory for analysis. These blanks will be collected as a quality check on distilled water used <br />during sampling events. One blank suite per sampling event will be analyzed using the technique <br />described in Appendix C. Blanks will be labeled and handled as regular samples. <br />C.4. SAMPLE HANDLING, DOCUMENTATION, AND ANALYSIS <br />C.4.1 Sample Labeling <br />Sample labels will be affixed to sample bottles prior to sample collection. The date, time, <br />• <br />sampler's initials, and the sample identification number should be completed at the time of sample <br />collection. All sample labels shall be filed out using waterproof ink. At a minimum, each label <br />shall contain the following information: <br />~ Company name <br />Sample description (well location) <br />Date and time of sample collection <br />~ Analyses required <br />Preservative <br />Sampler's initials <br />C.4.2 Sample Handling <br />This section discusses proper sample containers, preservatives, and handling and shipping <br />procedures. Chain-of-custody protocol are detailed. <br />C.4.2.1 Sample Cattainers <br />Certified, commercially clean sample containers shall be obtained from the analytical lab. <br />The bottles shall be labeled by the lab to indicate the type of sample to be collected. Required <br />preservatives are typically prepared and placed in the bottles at the laboratory prior to shipment to <br />the site. <br />C.9.2.2 Sample Preservation <br />Samples will be stored on ice in coolers immediately Following collection. Samples should <br />C~ <br />not be frozen to extend holding times.
